First Birthday

Almost 1

Last year at this time I was sitting in a hospital bed on bedrest.  My water had broken 4 days prior and I was not sure how much longer I would be able to continue my pregnancy.  There was talk of transferring me to another hospital and inserting a PICC line.  All the doctors from the practice were aware of my situation and were ready to jump into action if I went into labor or further complications arose.  One year ago today was my last full day of being pregnant.  I didn't know what tomorrow would bring or if I would get to bring my baby home.

Today, I am prepping for Linus' first birthday party which will take place tomorrow.

I am blessed.

Check out the big boy "bowling" yesterday!

March For Babies

Today, we participated in the March For Babies.  Our family team, Linus' Lemmings raised $541 for the March of Dimes.

Even the Red Robin joined us on the walk.

This is very similar to the view I had while on bed rest.  I waved to the hospital, knowing there must have been another high risk mom watching out her window this morning.  I was walking for her and her baby too.

We were happy to see three of Linus' NICU nurses at the walkway today.  My sleepy boy woke up and gave them the biggest smiles.  He knows how special these women are and how grateful I am that they were there to take care of my baby when I couldn't.

We walked from Poughkeepsie to Highland and then back again.

A firetruck for the kids to explore was waiting on the Highland side of the walkway.

When we reached Poughkeepsie, there was a party, complete with burgers, cotton candy, and sno cones.

Graduation Celebration

In celebration of Linus' graduation from his helmet, and because we were looking for a way to display the helmet, we took a special trip to Build A Bear.
Josie quickly chose a soft white bear to stuff.
Linus grabbed onto a tan bear, and wouldn't let go.
Josie did a great job stepping on the pedal to fill her bear up with fluff.
 Next, big sister helped Linus.

Josie picked out a heart and Linus gave it a kiss.

The bear is now proudly showing off Linus' helmet.

Helmet Graduation Day

Yesterday, Linus had his bi-monthly appointment to check his helmet.  His head shape was looking good, so it was decided he would have a scan done to see the progress.
Linus had a little cap placed on his head before going in the STARscanner.

The results were good.  His measurements went from a 10.4 to a 5.3, and his ears are lined up with each other.
Linus has officially graduated from his helmet.
Thank you, George.
